the moments when we quiet ourselves enough to hear His voice,, and the Word echoes loud[[I will make you as a light for the nations,
that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.]]

 


 
the moments when we’re faced with a need, and with a choice,
and we realize, [[what excuse do we have really?]]


                                                                                                                        

the moments when our hands and hearts go up in surrender, and our lives reflect the
truth that His ways truly are so much higher than ours.

the moments when a life poured out at the feet of Jesus, like the precious perfume of an alabaster jar, means a life poured out in the darkest areas of the world for the least of these.

the moments when a burden and a prayer evoke a response, and He tells us to pray for laborers, for the harvest is plentiful,, and is really just preparing our hearts to be the ones sent out.


[Because there are those who hear the call,, and then there are those who heed the call. ]
and the context of the words “behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” has never been so clear, and the promise has never been sweeter.

the call of the Bridegroom.

[[you are consumed with too many other things,, return to the first thing— your First Love.
I am found in the place of devotion,, in the place of surrender.
eyes fixed on Me.
sole vision.
sole focus.
sole purpose.

Dove’s eyes.  
throughout Song of Solomon, the Bride and Bridegroom refer to one another as doves. in the first chapter, the Bridegroom says “behold, you are beautiful, My love, behold you are beautiful; your eyes are as the eyes of doves.” (1:15)
and later on in chapter 5, as the Bride is rejoicing in Him, she refers to Him as having doves eyes as well (5:12).

doves have a binocular vision field. They can only focus on one thing at a time. when their eyes fix on their mate, they are undeterred in focus. they follow where they go and even mirror their exact movements.
this being one of the reasons they are referred to as ‘love birds’.


doves cannot look to the right or to the left.
their eyes are locked, their gaze is set.
completely consumed by their lover.


He is calling us back to our First Love-- to have the eyes of a dove.
